Benefits to Using TALLYHO’S Card Management Module:
At Tallyho we believe that to effectively manage your ATM and Debit Card program you should have more than just a database to maintain information. It should be easy to use and have some method to help guarantee the integrity of the information contained in it.
It can be very embarrassing if your customer has moved and during a card reissue you send his card to the old address because you failed to update the information in the Card Database when you changed the Core CIF. It can be equally embarrassing if the Card Database was changed and due to a keying error your Customer’s name was embossed on his card with the wrong spelling. Tallyho’s Card Management Module includes features to help you in avoiding costly and embarrassing data- base errors and give you the confidence that the information you are dealing with is consistent with your Core CIF. CIF INTERFACE is definitely an advantage Tallyho’s Solution provides that most others will not. In most cases we are able to interface our Card Management Module directly to the Core Application CIF. By doing this we are able to use the Card-holder name / address and account numbers straight from the CIF. This eliminates duplicate keying and maintains the integrity of the card database.
Tallyho’s CIF interface is an online interface not a refresh of the Card Management Database done once a day. Not only will this help you in avoiding the costly errors mentioned above it also helps provide a better level of Customer Service. With most Card Management Systems after your Customer Service Representative entered the information for a new Customer or account they would then have to reenter the same information in the Card Management Database before your Customer could have access to their accounts via ATMs. With Tallyho’s Card Management Module it is a very simple task for the CSR to activate your Customer for ATM use without having to reenter redundant information. SEPARATE ATM and POS LIMITS are a standard feature in our Card Management Module. With most Institutions issuing nationally branded Debit Cards it becomes more important to have these limits separate. By utilizing Tallyho’s Online Switch for online authorizations it is common for Institutions to offer considerably higher limits for POS transactions than ATM withdrawals. The added security of having these transactions authorized and posted online allows for the raising of limits and to increase card usage, which in turn increases customer service while increasing the revenue opportunity for the Institution. We realize that not all of an Institution’s Customers are the same, there are those who can justify and require higher ATM withdrawal and POS limits just as there are those who require smaller limits. Tallyho addresses this with VIP LIMIT CODES.
Giving an individual a $5.00 limit instead of a $500.00 limit can be embarrassing for the Institution and incredibly inconvenient for the Customer if he is miles from home with car trouble when he discovers he can only get $5.00 from the ATM. Or it can be costly to the institution when they thought they had given a customer a $300.00 limit and it is discovered after the withdrawals that the customer was given a $3,000.00 limit. These types of errors do happen and will happen over time when real dollar amounts are being keyed.
Tallyho requires the VIP Limit Code only be keyed. By assigning approved Institution limits to each of the different VIP Limit Codes only the appropriate code need be keyed to either setup or change the Customers limit. By limiting the amount of keying we have limited the chance for error. Even if a keying error is made with the code at least the limit assigned will be within the Institutions approved limits.
If an Institution wishes to change the limit for an entire group of customers who have been given the same VIP Limit Code the change is made simple. All that has o be done is to change the VIP Limit for that code only in the Institution setup file. This is a lot easier and produces a lot less errors than having to change the limit on the card for each cardholder the change affects. This enables the VIP Limit Code to become a tool when the Institution has special “Promotion Account” types. An example would be a Platinum Club where special perks and limits were established when opening an account. A kids club where deposits were allowed and withdrawal had a very low limit if at all.
THE STATUS CODE is simply a method of coding the status of that card whether it is active or inactive is its most common use. A very important use of this code is to “HOT CARD”. When a card has been lost, stolen or illegally used it is important to the Institution and their Customer’s that access with this card be denied as soon as possible. With Tallyho’s Card Management Module usage of the card will be denied as soon as it can be entered into the system, changes to the Cardholder Database are real time. As an Institution’s Customers come to depend on ATMs they also depend on the service available from them. One of these services is the ability to access multiple accounts with their card. Our Card Management Module supports OAR (Open Account elationships).
OTHER BENEFICIAL AIDS:
CARD FILE CONVERSION MODULE: When an Institution changes the vender who provides the method of maintaining their Cardholder Database someone has to do the conversion from the old database to the new database. All we ask is that the Institution have their previous provider supply them with the layout of their Cardholder Database and a copy of the Database itself if it does not reside on the Institutions host. We will supply the Card File Conversion Module that will convert the Database to the Tallyho Cardholder Database at no additional charge. CARD EMBOSSING MODULE: Whether a mass reissue of cards or daily issues of new and changed cards if the Institution uses a third party to produce, emboss and encode the card there has to be a method to supply the needed information to the card producer. This can be done manually, via a terminal at the Institution attached to the producer or by creating an electronic file to be sent to the producer either on magnetic media or via an electronic transmission. By far the most popular method today is using an electronic transmission. If the Institution elects to either supply the information by magnetic media or electronic transmission Tallyho will supply the Card Embossing Module at no additional charge. PIN and CARD MAILERS: In some cases Institutions do their on mailing of Cards and PINs to their Customers. If this is the case Tallyho can provide the PIN and Card Mailer Module with the Card Management Module at no additional charge.
